If you're passionate about creating handmade soap and want to take your skills to the next level, or if you're interested in generating extra income through soap selling, this intensive workshop is tailored for you.
What you'll make and take:
-- 2 Batches in total: 1 Batches of Natural CP Soap you made by one of the recipes you design in-class and 1 Batch of -- Artisan CP swirled Soap. About 5 pound in total.
-- Full Instruction Handout and Worksheets.
-- More than 20 soaps recipes, including the recipes you design in-class.
-- A certificate of completion.
Class Level: Intermediate to Advanced. Participants are required to have prior experience with cold process soap making.
If you have never made soap before, consider attending at least the Cold Process Soap Making 101 before this course.
** Curriculum and Highlights:
Morning Session-2 Hours
-- Oils & Additives: Learn about commonly used carrier oils, fatty acids, essential oils, and soap colorants. Advices provided about supply shopping tips.
-- Designing Soap Recipes: Get tips on creating soap formulas for different needs, including bath soap, facial soap, shampoo bars, baby soap, pet soap, kitchen soap...etc.
Lunch Break - Feel Free to Explore the great eats and diners in Dunedin!
Afternoon Session-4 hours
-- Soap Formula Calculation Practice: Hands-on practice calculating ingredient amounts based on batch sizes using provided formulas.
-- Recipe Design Exercise: Create five unique soap recipes, then review and refine them with guidance.
-- Soap Making Session: Choose one of the new recipes you design in-class and make a batch of soap during class.
-- Bonus Session: Slow tracing recipe design tips for artisan soap swirling. Choose 1 slow tracing recipe provided and make the artisan swirled soap.
